Melanie Miller (Walker) - Class Of 1981

OBITUARY INFORMATION FROM REES FUNERAL HOME WEBSITE:

Melanie Ann Miller- Walker 

Age 60, of Portage passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born on July 22, 1963, in Gary, Indiana to Samuel W. and Susan M. (nee Shone) Miller. She worked as a cashier at Strak & Van Til for many years. Melanie attended Bethel Church Hobart/Portage and enjoyed her bible study group. She loved all six of her cats, playing BINGO, but most of all she adored being with her family. She will be dearly missed. 

Melanie is survived by her husband, Michael Walker; stepdaughter, Kelly Dickerson; step grandson, Noah Dickerson; father, Samuel W. Miller; mother, Susan M. (nee Shone) Miller;  two brothers, Mike (Kathy) Miller and Mark (Connie) Miller; four sisters, Megan (Lee) Orosz, Mary (Brian) Lovall, Marci (Dave) Cooper and Micki Pressley; nieces and nephews, Andy (Laura) Miller, Zac Miller, Jessie (Andrew) Staley, Joe Orosz, Joshua Orosz, Lindsay Orosz, Brittney (Logan) Wright, Samantha Miller, Sean Lovall, Jonathon Lovall, Justine (Sebastian) Alonzo, Brock Cooper, Paige Cooper, Anna Pressley, Nate Pressley and Jackson Pressley and numerous great nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friend. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Brad Pressley.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Hobart Humane Society 2054 IN-130, Hobart, IN 46342 in memory of Melanie would be appreciated.

A funeral service for Melanie will be held Monday, April 22, 2024, at 10:00 am with Pastor Ben Hixson at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342.
