John Darosky - Class Of 1939

OBITUARY FROM REES FUNERAL HOME WEBSITE:

John Darosky, age 93, of Eureka Springs, Arkansas and formerly of Lake Station Indiana passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the Eureka Springs Hospital. He was born June 12, 1920 in Hobart, Indiana to the late Harry and Catherine (Matijew) Darosky. John was a retired truck driver working for Eibel & Sons Plumbing and Heating. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Orthodox Church in Chesterton, American Legion Post #454 in New Chicago and International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local Union #142. He was also a WWII Army Veteran.

John is survived by his wife Rebecca Frances Darosky of Eureka Springs, AR; his three daughters Linda (Mark) Teets of Chesterton, Barbara (Peter) Duda of Chesterton and Karen Darosky (Mick Skolak) of Lake Station; his sister Katherine (Darosky) Shouse of Houston, TX; four grandchildren Gregory (Christine) Duda, Valerie Teets, Laura (Michael) Coffey and Jason (Ruth) Teets and many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Victoria (Swalla) Darosky; one brother Michael Darosky; and three sisters Mary Bumbera, Anna Smith and Helen Liles.

Funeral Services will be 10 am Thursday December 12, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Orthodox Church 545 W. Indiana Avenue Chesterton, IN 46304 with V. Rev. Father William Bass officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Visitation is from 2-8 pm Wednesday with a 6 pm American Legion Memorial Service and a 7 pm Panikhida service at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, IN 46342.

Memorial gifts should be directed to St. Elizabeth Orthodox Church in lieu of flowers.
