Jean E. Davis, age 79 of Hobart passed away on Monday, April 14, 2003 at Lincolnshire Nursing Home in Merrillville. She was born on February 8, 1924, to Paul and Lydia Zander who preceded her in death. On September 23, 1978, Jean married Harry Davis, who preceded her in death on November 30, 1992. Jean worked for the Federal Government in Gary for many years and was a former member of Trinity Evangelical Luntheran Church of Hobart.

Jean is survived by one sister: Marian (late Robert) Scharbach of Hobart, three brothers: Warren (late Ann) Zander of Westville, Paul (Ruth) Zander of Hobart, Walter Zander of Fort Myers, FL, good friend: Fred Zoeter of Ft. Myers, FL. She leaves devoted nieces and nephews - Debbie (Michael) Vega and their children Amanda and Michelle, Harmony Dimitroff of Elkhart and her children, Robbie and Ruth Ann, Ramona (Edward) Pickford of Portage and their children Jodi and Eric, Paul Zander of Kouts and his children, Kelly and Paul, Becky (Mike) Hackleman and their children, Katie, Kelly, Jessica, Peter and Sam.

A private graveside service will be held at McCool Cemetery. Cremation at the Burns Funeral Home Crematory will precede service. Contributions may be made to the Lincolnshire Nursing Home in Merrillville or Harbor Lite Hospice Center. Burns Funeral Home (Hobart) corner of Rt. 51 and 7th Street in charge of arrangements.
