Robert “Bob” Kainrath, Jr., age 56 of Hobart, IN passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022 in Chicago, IL. He was born on August 30, 1965 in Gary, IN to Robert and Marie (Wozniak) Kainrath.
Bob is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mellisa (Rhodes) Kainrath; sons, Robert “Bobby” Kainrath, III, Mat Victery; mother, Marie (Gary Boston) Kainrath, sister, Deb (Skip) Post; brothers, Denny (Kathy) Kainrath, Kenny Kainrath; father-in-law, Ron Rhodes, Sr.; sister-in-law, Tina (Ed) Truman; brother-in-law, Ron (Cyndi Friedrich) Rhodes Jr.; nephews, Eric (Jennifer) Post, Denny Kainrath, Jr., Ryan Truman, Shawn Truman, Ronny Rhodes, III, Adam Friedrich; nieces, Nicole (Brian) Kersey, Abby Kainrath, Carissa Truman, Allison Friedrich; many great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Kainrath, Sr.; mother-in-law, Brenda Rhodes; grandfathers, Leo Kainrath, George Puskas; grandmothers, Mary Kainrath, Mary Puskas.
Bob graduated from Hobart High School Class of 1983. He loved his job at Simko Signs and working with his coworkers, especially his bosses. Bob was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago White Sox. He enjoyed fantasy football and wrestling. Bob loved his Tuesday night date nights with Missy and he savored the times he had with her. Even when he could barely hold the cards, he still played rummy with his sister, Deb. Bob enjoyed his cabin in Michigan where he would fish and shoot with his family and friends. He cherished traveling with his family and taking time to spend at the beach. His smile was infectious and he could always fill the room with laughter. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 11:00 am at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Avenue, Portage, IN 46368 with Pastor Ron Rhodes officiating. Burial to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
