In Memory

Theresa (Terri) Wolfe (Adams) - Class Of 1970

OBITUARY FROM THE REES FUNERAL HOME WEBSITE, JANUARY 30, 2018:

Age 65, of Portage, passed away on January 27, 2018 at St. Mary Medical Center. Theresa was born on September 30, 1952 to the late Henry and Mary (nee Scaduto) Wolfe. She was a member of The Order of Eastern Stars and was known by many members throughout Indiana. All who knew her loved her.

Theresa was passionate about collecting lighthouses.  Her passion stems directly from her Eastern Star heritage. She was selected as Grand Page in 1991 and the theme for that session was "let your light shine".  The lighthouse is a symbol of finding the way forward and helps in navigating our way through rough waters whether those waters are financial, personal, business or spiritual in nature.  And, just like the lighthouses she loved collecting; Theresa was often a beacon of light helping anyone who came to her for help.  She lived generously and was always there to lend a helping hand and loving ear.  She will be missed by many. Her other interests included crocheting, watching Hallmark Christmas movies, following NASCAR, and she loved her Cubbies.  She wore her Cubs World Championship tee shirt with pride and joy.  Theresa was also a friend of Bill W.  She will be remembered as a loving step mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

She is survived by her sister, Paula (Bill) Siminski; seven step children, Gary (Kamia) Adams, Jimmy (Donna) Adams, Sharon (Steve) Battson, Tina (Jerry) Watkins, Troy (Amy) Adams, Cathy (Tim) Slater, James Picking; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; sister in law, Linda Gavelak; and many other loving family members and friends. Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Buchanan Adams Jr.; her parents; and three siblings, Patricia (William) Fulton, John Gavelak, Judith (Richard) Loomis.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to help fulfill Theresa’s wishes of being interred together, with her husband, at Calumet Park Cemetery. A memorial service for Theresa will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart Indiana 46342 followed by an Eastern Star service. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. (219) 942-2109 or online at www.reesfuneralhomes.com.
