Thomas "Tom" "Herbie" Caldwell, Age 68, of Valparaiso, IN passed away on Saturday, September 9th, 2017 at home with his family. He was born October 28, 1948 in Altoona, PA to Melvin P. and Rose Mary (Seidel) Caldwell. Tom was married in 1968 to Carolyn Williams. He retired in 2002 as a Manager from US Steel after 35 years of service.

Tom is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Williams) Caldwell of Valparaiso, IN; daughter, Sandi (Keith) LeBlanc of Valparaiso, IN; son, Tommy (Brandy) Caldwell Jr. of Burns Harbor, IN; brother, Lawrence (Gloria) Caldwell of Hebron, IN; grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, Samantha, Nick, Cady, Aiden and Jacob, brothers-in-law, Lawrence Hall, Walt (Joy), Ron (Cheryl) and Eddie (Carol) Williams; sister-in-law, Sharon (Oren) Close; mother and father in law, Gene & Dorothy Broadaway and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Patricia Ann and sister, Rose Mary "Bebe" Hall. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 15th, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 5:30 pm at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 5:30 pm at the funeral home. Interment of cremains will take place at a later date at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, IN. Memorials may be made to Porter County VNA Hospice Center.
