Rose Mary Adams, 66, passed away Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, peacefully at her home in Benton. She was born Nov. 8, 1950, in Mount Vernon, to Albert and Ruth Gant. She married William Leslie Adams Feb. 24, 1996, and they were happily married for 20 years.
Rose Mary grew up in Hobart, Indiana. She graduated from Hobart High School in 1969. She worked for Franklin-Williamson Human Services for 23 years. Rose Mary and Les enjoyed dancing and singing at Petticoat Corner. She also enjoyed singing at and attending church. Rose and Les also enjoyed drinking coffee at Cracker Barrel, hosting family gatherings, and attending her grandchildren’s events.
Survivors include her loving spouse, Les of Benton; brother, Russell and wife, Sandy, Gant; three children, Thomas and wife, Tina, Dean, Angela and husband, Mark, Tonn, and Christopher Dean; Les’s three children, Lee and wife, Joyce, Adams, Annette Farthing, and Brian Adams; nine grandchildren Mackenzie, Macyn and fiancé, Paris Dunk, Dakota, Raven, Hunter, Alexandria, Makinley, Jaden, and Adriana; many nieces and nephews; and Rose’s pet companions, Sassy and Sylvie. Rose Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ruth Easley; and her little sister, Norma Ruth Gant.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, in Morton and Johnston Funeral Home at 410 S. Main St., in Benton. Burial will be in Union Missionary Baptist Church in Dahlgren.
