JoAnne Greener (Schinella) - Class Of 1976


OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, MAY 6, 2017:
 
JoAnne Schinella (nee Greener) age 58, a lifelong resident of Hobart, IN passed away in South Pasadena, FL on May 3, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. JoAnne was born in Gary, IN on August 14, 1958. She married the love of her life Gregg Schinella on October 18, 1985. They have five children and eight grandchildren. JoAnne worked as a secretary at Hobart High School. She was a devoted wife, cherished mother and grandmother. Her family and her faith were her pride and passion.
 
JoAnne was preceded in death by her parents Francis and Elinor Greener, her mother-in-law Betty Schinella and sister-in-law Mari Schinella. She is survived by her husband Gregg Schinella; her children: Jacob (Katie Thomason) Schinella, Jeff (Melissa) Schinella, Dr. Jorie Schinella, Jill (John) Wilson, Mandy (BJ) Connaway. Grandchildren: Isaac, Miles, Elliot, and Joy Schinella. Sophia and Katie Wilson, Olivia and Madison Connaway; ten siblings: Susan Graves, Leonard (Cheryl Kaczorowski) Greener, Mary Ellen (David) Thyen, Michael (Betsy) Greener, Cynthia (Peter) Theodoros, Thomas Greener, Gregory (Jody Burkhardt) Greener, Lisa (Michael) Field, Jeffrey (Sheri) Greener, Betsy (Tom) VanDeinse. Father- in-law Ralph Schinella; brothers-in-law: Patrick (Tracy) Schinella and Michael (Denise) Schinella. Along with many nieces and nephews.
A private Celebration of Life service will be held at St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church in Empire, MI with burial at St. Phillip Neri Catholic Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance, OCRFA.Org would be appreciated.
