Pete J. Timpe, age 58, of Gary passed away unexpectantly Tuesday April 12, 2016 at Northlake Methodist Hospital. Pete was born March 19, 1958 to the late Lawrence and Anita (Tafel) Timpe, Jr. He was a Substation Electrician working for NIPSCO for over 35 years. Pete loved sports and enjoyed coaching Portage Junior Miss Softball, Portage Youth Basketball and Portage Little League. He was a US Army Veteran. Pete was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and son.

Pete is survived by his loving wife Elise Timpe of Gary; four children Tracie (Jeff) Lopez of Valparaiso, Peter (Schantell) Timpe, Jr. of West Jordan, UT, Timothy (Becca) Timpe of Valparaiso and Desi Timpe of Portage; loving Poppi to Justin Lopez, Bella Timpe and Petey Timpe; four brothers Steve Timpe of Mesquite, TX, Lawrence Timpe, III of Williston, ND, Matthew (Cindy) Timpe of Valparaiso and Jon Timpe of Chicago, IL; two sisters Diane Vest of Pendleton and Kathy Byrum of Hobart; many more extended family members and dear friends; and his beloved Fur Babies Abby, Bella and Max.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Humane Society of N.W. Indiana, 6100 Melton Road, Gary, IN 46403.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 16, 2016 at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery Portage, Indiana. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral Home.
