Lawrence (Larry) Bentley - Class Of 1967

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, APRIL 7, 2015:

Lawrence A. Bentley, age 65, of Hobart, passed away on April 5, 2015. Larry was a graduate of Hobart High School, Class of 1967. He received a BS from ISU, and a Master's degree from IU. He began his teaching career at Holy Angels School in Gary and then taught History for 31 years at Bishop Noll where he was also a baseball coach from '84-'96. Larry was also a driving instructor for Certified for many years. He was a member of St. Bridget Church and an avid baseball fan.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents- Frank and Magdalene Bentley; brother- William Bentley. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara (nee Cafiero) Bentley; son, Kurt (Amy) Bentley of Valparaiso; grandson Kayden; sisters-in-law: Carol (Brad) Chandler of Lowell, Diane Cafiero of New York; brothers-in-law, Paul (Debbie) Cafiero of Granger, Tom (Laura) Cafiero of Hobart; several loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Larry will be on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, to St. Bridget Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Services will conclude at the church. Rev. Dominic Bertino and Rev. Joseph Angotti concelebrating. Friends are invited to visit with Larry's family at Burns on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. www.burnsfuneral.com.
