Lynaya Strom (Anderson) - Class Of 1956

OBITUARY FROM BEAVER DAM (WI) DAILY CITIZEN:

Lynaya “Lynn” Anderson, 71, of Waupun, went home to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.

Lynaya was born Oct. 20, 1938, in Gary, Ind., the daughter of Myles and Marie Mannheim. On Dec. 3, 1955, she married her high school sweetheart, Donald R. Anderson, in Hobart, Ind. Shortly after their marriage the couple moved to Cedarburg, Wis., where they resided for seven years until moving to West Bend. They resided in West Bend for 16 years, Land O’ Lakes for 16 years, and then moved to Waupun in 2003 to be closer to her family. Lynaya loved the north woods where she and Donald enjoyed many outdoor activities together such as bicycling, camping, skiing, snowmobiling, and other outdoor fun. She enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with a wide circle of friends. Lynaya was a member of Edgewood Community Church where she found Jesus Christ in her life and acquired many wonderful and caring friends. Lynaya loved most of all being closer to her family. She adored her children, grandchildren, and Ayden, her grandson, who was the joy of her life and a blessing to her and her husband, Don. Lynaya fought a courageous battle with cancer.

Lynaya is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Donald R. Anderson of Waupun; three children, Donald P. Anderson of West Bend, Deborah Lynn (Tom) Huber of Ripon, and Derrick M. Anderson of Beaver Dam; three grandchildren, Trent, Lauren, and Nicholas; a great-grandchild, Ayden Shae; a sister, Joanne (Ron) Katcher of West Bend; nieces and nephews, Cheri Fitch of Whitefish Bay, Wis., Pam (Mike) Mueller of Grafton, Wis., and Terry Fitch of Port Washington, Wis. Lynaya was preceded in death by her parents.

We are so thankful for the blessed friends we acquired through Edgewood Community Church and the wonderful ministry of people within the church. We both found the truth and love through Christ. Thanks to the Rev. Mike Giebink, the Rev. Roger Knowlton, and all the wonderful elders who kept us in their prayers.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Aug. 7, at 11 a.m. at Edgewood Community Church in Waupun with the Rev. Roger Knowlton and the Rev. Mike Giebink officiating. Friends and relatives may call on the family at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

The family requests memorials be directed to Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home of Waupun and staff are serving the family. Online condolences may be directed to werner.harmsen@sbcglobal.net.
