Thomas Alvin Weakland - Class Of 1956

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, MAY 19, 2014:

Thomas Alvin Weakland, age 78, of Highland, IN passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joyce (nee Holmgren); three children: Wendolyn (David) McSwiggan, Thomas (Theresa) Weakland and Joylynn (Michael) Copeland; eight grandchildren: Padraic, Aidan and Kiernan McSwiggan, Sebastian, Alexander and Nathan Weakland, Samantha and Joseph Copeland; brother, David (Linda) Weakland; sister, Cheryl (Joe) Connor; and several nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN with Rev. William McFarlane officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family Tuesday, May 20, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home.
 
Mr. Weakland was a salesman for 42 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He enjoyed gardening, yardwork, travel and watching his grandchildren's sporting events.
