Mary Jocelyn Hahn (Johnson) - Class Of 1958 VIEW PROFILE

OBITUARY INFORMATION FROM NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME (CHESTERFIELD, MO) WEBSITE:

Longtime Hillsboro, Missouri resident Mary Jocelyn Johnson, known to everyone as Jocelyn, went home peacefully to be with the Lord on December 17, 2025, at the age of 85. She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Bill, as well as her children Liz, Julie and Will (Christy), and her granddaughters, Caroline, Sarah, Emma, Katie and Grace. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Millie Hahn, her sister Janice, and other dear relatives.

A native of Hobart, Indiana, Jocelyn graduated from Hobart High School and earned a nursing degree from St. Mary's College at Notre Dame. She worked as a hospital nurse for a time before starting her family life. Later, she returned to hospital work and also spent time employed in hospice care, a role that meant a great deal to her. The family lived overseas in Asia and Europe three times, and Jocelyn and Bill made sure their children had many enriching cultural experiences. Jocelyn was a devoted Catholic, a talented seamstress, and an enthusiast for volunteering, genealogical research, entertaining, current events and novels.

Jocelyn leaves behind many people touched by her care. Friends, relatives and neighbors received an abundance of her time and assistance over the years. Her last few months were spent in the kind care of the Sunrise Senior Living staff in Chesterfield, Missouri. Memorial donations can be made to Birthright of Hillsboro, Missouri, one of her favorite charities.

A Mass to honor Jocelyn's life will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Friday, December 26, 2025 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 703 Third St., Hillsboro, Missouri 63050. A visitation will be held at the Church beginning at 9:30 am.
