Jim Goffiney - Class Of 1962

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, OCTOBER 25, 2014:

JAMES O. GOFFINEY VALPARAISO, IN James, age 70, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Porter Regional Hospital, Valparaiso, IN. Born on May 7, 1944 in Gary IN. He was a resident of Valparaiso since 1984, formerly of Hobart, IN Lumber Products Manager for North America Steve Doring Company, attended St. Paul Catholic Church, graduate of Hobart High School and Indiana University Northwest. James was an Army Veteran.

Survived by wife, Lynn L Goffiney; children: Taryn (John) Johns, Tracy (John) Savickis, Joseph (Bridget) Goffiney, Kelly (Luke Haas) Goffiney; five grandchildren; mother, Mavis Goffiney; sister, Linda (Dan) Redelman; uncle, Robert Crabb. Preceded in death by father, Joseph A. Goffiney.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the Dykes Funeral Home, 2305 N. Campbell St., Valparaiso IN. Rev. Joseph Pawlowski officiating. Cremation, Calvary Crematory, Portage IN. Friends may call on Monday, October 27, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Dykes Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family. Arrangements by Dykes Funeral Home, Inc. (219) 462-3125.

Jim was a friend.

Ron Elisha (1962)

Thanks for sharing this, I wondered what happen to Jim. He and I were Frat brothers at Ball State and had a car together we called the galloping goose. The women loved to ride in that old car. I would have liked to have known what he died from.

Linda Schmelter (Buzinec) (1962)

Jim and I went to St. Bridget's together.  He was a good person and I was shocked to hear he had passed away.  I was able to attend the viewing but never found out what he died from
