Fred LaLonde - Class Of 1962

OBITUARY FROM REES FUNERAL HOME WEBSITE:

Frederick LaLonde, Sr., age 77, of Hobart, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020. He was born on February 16, 1943 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Roy and Catherine LaLonde. Fred was a 1962 graduate of Hobart High School. On February 29, 1992, he married Linda (nee Eubanks) LaLonde. He was a dedicated member of First Church in Hobart. Fred was also a member of the National Rifle Association and the American Legion Post #100 in Lake Station. He loved to golf, go to NASCAR races and bowled on Tuesday evenings. Fred will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, Papa, and G-Pops to those he leaves behind.   

Fred is survived by his wife, Linda (nee Eubanks) Lalonde; sons, Jeff (Susan) Dallas, Frederick LaLonde, Jr.; daughters, Christie (Jeff) Sable, Denise (Chris) Anderson; grandchildren, Erin (Chris) Elkins, Melanee Dallas, Amanda (Luke) Shaw, Justin (Hannah) Dallas, Jennifer Sable, Madison Anderson and Emily Anderson; great grandchildren, Everett Elkins, Jase Dallas, Karlee Dallas, Aubree Shaw, Gavin Menard, Ainslee Shaw, Bennett Elkins, Oaklee Dallas; sister-in-law, Peggy (George) Randall.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon Paul LaLonde; brother, Bill LaLonde; sisters, Marge Namminga and Sue LaLonde.

Memorial contributions in Fred’s name may be made to First Church, 939 S. Wisconsin Street, Hobart. 

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 30, 2020 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage. A funeral service for Fred will take place Monday, August 31, 2020 at 11:00 am at First Church, 939 S. Wisconsin St., Hobart. He will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park in Hobart.
