Larry Leech - Class Of 1959

INFORMATION PROVIDED BY DEANNA MAXWELL KWASNY, CLASS OF 1959:

Larry G. Leech, age 76, of Lake Station, passed away at home on Wednesday, April 12. 2017. He was born in Linton, Indiana on January 20, 1941 to the late George H. and Mary D. (nee Leveque) Leech.

Larry graduated from River Forest High School, Class of 1960. Larry was a retired Sheet Metal Worker, Local 20 and also retired from the Chrome Deposit Corporation in Portage. Larry was an avid car enthusiast. He was a member of the Regional Streeters. He enjoyed drag racing at the U.S. 30 Drag Strip in the 60’s and 70’s. Larry spent his free time riding his Harley motorcycle and will be remembered as a motor sports fan.

Larry is survived by daughter, Laura Leech; brother, Gregg (Bernice) Leech; grandson, Pete Leech; great grandson, Xavier Leech; former wife and friend, Paula Leech; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carolyn A. Leech; two sisters, Jean Leech Loving, Janet Lynn Leech; and his parents, George H. and Mary D. Leech.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Larry’s honor, to VNA Hospice, 2401 Valley Drive, Valparaiso, Indiana 46383.

Visitation will be held Wednesday April 19, 2017 from 2:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. A funeral service for Larry will take place at 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd, Hobart, IN 46342.

A burial of cremains will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Portage, Indiana.
