OBITUARY FROM BURNS FUNERAL HOME WEBSITE:
Robert (Bob) Allen Rauscher, age 59, of Crown Point, formerly of Gary, passed away on December 6, 2019. He was a graduate of Hobart High School, Class of 1978, and attended Ivy Tech Community College.
Bob was employed at GCI Communications, Inc, and Arrow Uniform, where he was a Sales Executive. He enjoyed the outdoors which included camping, hiking, bonfires and going to the beach. Bob like to collect sports memorabilia and would never pass up the chance to tell you all about it! He also had a love for his family and his dogs. Bob was very proud of his daughters and bragged about them to everyone he spoke to. He loved his dogs like they were family. Bob adored his dog Sheba, who he is now reunited with in Heaven. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Crown Point. Bob loved Jesus very much and participated in many church activities and tried his best to never miss a Sunday service, even when he was out of town. He was the social butterfly and everyone that knew him knew he was the life of the party! Bob loved gathering with his family and friends and knew how to have a good time. Bob loved music, especially classic rock, loved to play air guitar and dance to the music. He had a wild sense of humor and never failed to make people laugh. His laugh was infectious, and his smile lit up a room. Bob’s spirit will be greatly missed.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents- Alois and Loretta Rauscher. He is survived by his daughters- Katie Rauscher of Wheatfield, Corine (Schuyler) Toth of Kapolei, HI; grandchild- Evelyn Jane Toth of Kapolei, HI; siblings- Fred (Judy) Rauscher of Griffith, Joe (Donna) Rauscher of Gilbert, AZ, Lorri (Jerry) Kurdelak of Monon, Arlene (Darrell) Pedigo of Charlestown; ex-wife Michelle Rauscher of Demotte; many other extended family members and friends.
Memorial Visitation for Robert will be Sunday, December 15, 2019 from 2:00 p.m., until the time of Memorial Service at 5:00 p.m., at Burns Funeral Home, 701 East 7th Street, Hobart. www.burnsfuneral.com
