OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, JULY 16, 2014:
Brooks, Terry C. Age 78, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Nettie Brooks; children, Kathleen (Jerry) Gutjahr, Becky (Hank) Kilander, Tom (Phill) Brooks, Paul (Becki) Brooks; grandchildren, Emily and Erica Gutjahr, Olivia Kilander, Tyler, Zach and Andrew Brooks. Preceded in death by his parents, Denver and Mary Brooks; sisters, Peggy Brooks and Patricia Schott.
Terry served 12 years in the National Guard and was a retired carpenter from Local Union 1005. He was a member of the Lions club, Duneland Wood Carvers and attended St. Andrews Church. Terry will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at Rendina Funeral Home (5100 Cleveland Street, Merrillville, IN), Father Brian Chadwick officiating. Burial immediately following at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, July 18, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In memory of Terry donations may be made to Riley Hospital for Children (705 Riley Hospital Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46202).
