Mary Lou Klahn (Comerford) - Class Of 1955

OBITUARY FROM THE LOGANSPORT (IN) PHAROS-TRIBUNE, JULY 30, 2015:

Mary Lou Comerford, 79, Peru, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at her home in Peru, loved and cherished by her family.. She was born Feb. 23, 1936, in Wallace, the daughter of Walter Klahn and Kathleen (Parrow) Klahn. She married Charles "Chuck" Landrum in 1958. They celebrated 26 years of marriage before his passing in 1984. She married J. Paul Comerford in 1997. They were married almost 15 years at the time of his death in 2012.

Mary Lou graduated from Hobart High School in 1955. She studied nursing at Olivet Nazarene University. Mary Lou served for many years as an emergency medical technician in Rochester and Macy. She most enjoyed her role taking care of her family and home.. She was a member of Peru First Church of the Nazarene. She treasured he church family and was very active throughout the church. She was a member of the choir, served on the church board, and enjoyed participating in Prime Timers and Women of Worship. She also served as a Sunday School teacher in the past. Mary Lou was a member of Pioneer Power of North Central Indiana. She loved animals and considered her four-legged friends as family. She was blessed with many friends and enjoyed visiting them often.

Her surviving family include a daughter, Cheryl Landrum, Peru; stepson, Joe Comerford, Peru; granddaughter, Cassandra (Chris) Binkley, Goreville, Ill.; grandsons, Jeremy (Chrissy) Landrum, Bunker Hill, and Jason (Maria) Landrum, Killeen, Texas; step-granddaughter, Jodie (Tom) Schmitt, Kokomo; and great-grandchildren, Xandure and Sebastian Binkley, Goreville, Ill., Emma Lynn and Randy Landrum, Bunker Hill, Nick and Breanna Landrum, Killeen, Texas, and Taylor Schmitt, Kokomo.. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Chuck Landrum, second husband J. Paul Comerford; son, Randal Landrum; two brothers; three sisters; stepdaughter-in-law, Judith Comerford; and step-granddaughter, Jennifer Comerford.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Peru First Church of the Nazarene, 331 W. Sixth St., Peru, with Pastor Floyd Laabs and Pastor Tony Winters officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery, Macy.. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Third St., Peru.. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Peru First Church of the Nazarene or Cause for Paws of Logansport.
