OBITUARY FROM EDMONDS & EVANS (PORTAGE, INDIANA) FUNERAL HOME:

Eugene Erwin, age 74 of Milford, OH passed away at home on Monday, January 25, 2016. He was born in Gary, IN to Charles H. and Evelyn (Watts) Erwin. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dona (Davis) Erwin of Milford, OH; daughters, Darla (Scott) Aydelotte of Valparaiso, IN, Marci Brichant of Milford, OH, and Stacey (Michael) Heck of Mason, OH; Sisters, Geraldine Erhardt of Hobart, IN, Pauline (Roger) Mergl of Portage, IN, and Charlene Walters of Hobart, IN; grandchildren, Heather Szakacs, Brian Aydelotte, Amber Hayslett, Stephen Rader, Christy Brichant, Caleb, Hailey and Emily Heck; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Jackie Erwin.

Eugene was a graduate of Hobart High School, Class of 1960. He worked for 27 years for U.S. Steel and retired, then worked as a groundskeeper for the Terrace Park Country Club and retired after 23 years of service. He enjoyed golfing, NASCAR, and was a fan of the Chicago Bears.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368, with Pastor Bob Burton officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, IN. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 1st, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
