Ed Stewart (Teacher)

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, JUNE 12, 2005:

Ed Stewart, age 77, Former Coach of the Hobart Brickies, died suddenly on June 7, 2005 in St. Petersburg, FL. A graduate of Wheeling High School, WV, served U.S. Navy during WWII, assisting two Land Troops in the Pacific, a graduate of Whittenberg University in OH. Stewart moved to Hobart in 1954, where he taught History and coached football at Hobart High School. Stewart moved to Houston, TX in 1977, where he was a salesman for C.E. Refractories until he retired.

He is survived by wife, Millie; four sons: Michael, Jeff, Ed II and Brent; one daughter, Kimberly Land; six grandchildren; sister, Lois Dandrea of Hobart.

A memorial will be held in Houston, TX at a later date.
