OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, MAY 24, 2015:

Sally J. Cope, (nee Brewer) age 78, of Lowell, formerly of Hobart, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2015. Sally was a graduate of Jackson Township High School, Class of 1954 in Ohio. She attended Earlham College and received her degree in Nursing. She was the attendance secretary at Hobart High School for many years. Sally was a longtime member and past president of Hobart Kiwanis Club and past Lt. Governor of the Duneland Division of Kiwanis.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bertine Brewer, her father, Wayne Brewer, her step-mother, Kathern Brewer and son, Jason Cope. Sally is survived by her college sweetheart and husband of 58 years, Bill Cope of Lowell; 2 daughters, Kim Ciesielski of Crown Point and Tami Kepshire of Hobart; 4 grandchildren, Danielle (David), Andy, Alyssa, and Mike (Mallary); great-granddaughter, Mikayla; brother, Steve (Jackie) Brewer, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to meet with Sally's family on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th Street, Hobart, IN. A private service will precede the visitation. Hobart Kiwanis will conduct a memorial service Tuesday, 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or any Suicide prevention organization. www.burnsfuneral.com.
