Ronnie Ritter - Class Of 1957

OBITUARY FROM THE DAILY JOURNAL (TUPELO, MS), APRIL 7, 2018:
 
Ronnie D. Ritter passed away on Easter Day 2018. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Causey Ritter, his Children, Kathy M. VanVleet, Ronnie Ritter, Jr., Laureen Kastanos, Megan Hollingshead, Lt. Col. Brandi Ritter and BobtheCat. His youngest son Kenny died in 1990.
 
Ron was born in Terre Haute, IN in 1939, as he always added BA - before the Atomic bomb. He attended Hobart High School in Hobart, Indiana. Active in all sports, Ron was selected as All State end in football his senior year. With a Football scholarship to Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois he focused on Civil Engineering. His freshman coach was Ara Parseghian. During Ron's career in construction he built many hospitals and sports centers. Retiring from Robins & Morton in Birmingham in 2008, Ron lived aboard his boat, the Bob Cat. Ron enjoyed docking at Midway Marina in Fulton, Ms. In his last years, as COPD, Colon Cancer and other cancers attacked, he was told that smoking was the cause of the cancers. His wish was to urgently show young people the dangers of smoking.
 
Senter Funeral Home is assisting the family. A Memorial service will be held in Gloster, MS, at Galilee Baptist Church on May 3, 2018 at 1pm.
