Dale Catt - Class Of 1947

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, JANUARY 18, 2017:

Dale H. Catt, Sr., 87 of Valparaiso passed away peacefully Sunday, January 15, 2017 at his home. He was born October 26, 1929 in Indianapolis, IN to Othniel D. and Alletah M. (Eash) Catt. Dale was a veteran of the U.S. Army and graduated with a civil engineering degree from Purdue University. He had worked as a City Engineer for Crown Point from 1968-1990 and Hobart from 1976-1988. Dale also worked for four years as a County Highway Engineer for the Lake County Highway Department. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Hobart, where he served as an elder, sang in the choir, and played on the church dartball team into his 80's. Dale enjoyed golfing, fishing, and woodworking.

On September 13, 1952 in Hammond, Dale married his beloved wife, Adelaide C. Pratt who preceded him in death in 2015. He is survived by his children: Dale H. (Susan) Catt, Jr., Cathy L. (Jim) Goldschmidt, and Kevin D. (Claire) Catt; and grandchildren: Tanner, Noah, and Olivia Catt, Melanie, Andrew (Jenny), and Matthew Goldschmidt, and Kasey (Lauren), Jacob, Bowen, and Tristan Catt.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church of Hobart, 900 Luther Dr., Hobart, with a service beginning at 12:00 PM and burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the American Alzheimer's Association, Trinity Lutheran Church, or the VNA Hospice of Porter County. Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso handling arrangements.
