OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, AUGUST 27, 2015:

Hugh D. Brown, 83, of South Bend, IN passed away at home on Tuesday, August 25 at 1:00 a.m. Hugh was born in Logansport, IN on February 19, 1932 to Hugh W. and Dorothy B. (Shaw) Brown, both of whom preceded him in death. Hugh grew up in Gary, IN from 1934 to 1945 until his family moved to Hobart, IN. He graduated from Hobart high school in 1950, but always considered Gary as his home town. Hugh attended Ball State Teachers College from 1950 - 1952, favoring History and English. Hugh did military service in the U.S. Navy from 1952 - 1954 during the Korean War and was given an Honorable discharge upon completion of his tour. Hugh married the love of his life, Jane Grover, from Muncie, IN in 1955. Together they had four children: Deborah, Hugh, Jr., Gregory and Jill (deceased in January, 2005 and missed so very much); all smart, skilled, loyal and successful. Jane and Hugh were so very proud of them in all ways. The holidays were always special, especially when all could come together to visit. Hugh's other passions were golf, painting, but most of all, spending time with his wife until her passing in June, 2013. Hugh worked as an engineering technician from 1947 until retirement in 2001 with time out from 1950 - 1954 for college and military service. He loved his work.

Surviving Hugh are his children: Deborah Pisowicz, Scottsdale, AZ; Hugh Jr. (Ann), Osceola, IN; Gregory (Lisa), Land-O-Lakes, FL; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Bless them all as they are precious. Hugh had no regrets as he had a good life.
