Nelson Wittman - Class Of 1948

Nelson E. Wittman, age 87 of Hobart/Cincinnati OH passed away in Cincinnati, OH, November 18, 2017 with his family at his side. Nelson grew up in Gary and Hobart, Indiana, graduated Class of 1948 where he was a Brickie football player. Nelson is survived by wife, Lynda, of 53 years, three children, seven grandchildren; sister, Zeta (Bob) Allen; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother and parents.
 
Nelson was a Purdue Chemical Engineering graduate, and held a MBA from Harvard. Nelson was a Naval Officer in charge of Special weapons on the USS Essex CV9 Aircraft Carrier during the Lebanese crisis in 1958. As a DuPont Engineer Nelson was involved in the production of the raw material for our nuclear weapons. Nelson founded and operated his own company, Productive Carbide, he and his wife operated the company together for 3 decades.
 
His funeral service and interment took place in Cincinnati, November 25, 2017.
