Mary Tatalovich (Magurean) - Class Of 1940

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, DECEMBER 27, 2017:
 
Mary Magurean, 95, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017 with her loving family by her side. She was born to Sava and Sara Tatalovich on February 20, 1922 in Gary, IN.
 
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard A. Magurean; parents, Sava (Sara) Tatalovich; sister, Violet Shematz and brother, George Tatalovich. Mary is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Ellen (Michael) Loughran; son, Howard Magurean; granddaugthers, Anastasia and Ekaterina Loughran; sister, Mildred (Clyde) Griggs; a host of other loving family members and precious friends.
 
Mary was a graduate of Hobart High School Class of 1940. She retired from the Gary Public School System with over 20 years of excellent service in the Transportation Department. She also worked at U.S. Steel Corporation during WWII. Mary was a member of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, SNF Lodge No. 16, Serbian Sisters Circle, a supporting member of the Karageorge Choir and she was a cater at the church.
 
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Pomen Service at 7:00 p.m. in the Main Chapel at the Ridgelawn Funeral Home, 4201 West Ridge Road, Gary, IN 46408 (219) 980-5555. Funeral Service will be on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Marko Matic officiating at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, 9191 Mississippi Street, Merrillville, IN 46410. Interment will be in the Veteran Section at the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Gary, IN. Mary will be dearly missed by her loving family and precious friends. In lieu of flowers memorial donations will be appreciated to the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church.
