Wayne Schenk - Class Of 1968

OBITUARY FROM THE DIGNITY MEMORIAL WEBSITE:
 
Wayne George Schenk, 68, a long-time resident of the Las Vegas area, passed away on June 11, 2018 in Mexico seeking alternative medical treatment after a bravely fought battle against cancer.
 
He was born on November 6, 1949 in Gary, Indiana to George and Ellen Schenk.
 
Wayne attended Purdue University in Indiana. Wayne had a string of successful businesses in his lifetime. He was a proud member of the Nevada Amateur Radio Club. At one point he worked for Motorola in California. He launched his first business, MCI (Mobile Communications INC.), in Las Vegas and it was a complete success. Later he owned Cash 4 U Pawn in Las Vegas which was later sold to Easy Pawn. Wayne was always employed in several relationship marketing businesses. He always strived to be his own boss and managed to do so.
 
Wayne had a clear passion for travel. He truly did travel the world and made friends everywhere he went. He believed in the power of self-improvement and attended many conferences in that realm. He also was an avid reader. Wayne loved to be a blessing in people's lives and help them grow and prosper.
 
He is survived by his two children, Katie and Tyler Schenk; his two sisters, Sylvia Akerley and Christine Frogge; and his mother Ellen Schenk.
