OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, JUNE 16, 2010

James F. Woodard, age 58 of Hobart, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 14, 2010. Jim was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Hobart High School. He was a steelworker and retired from U.S. Steel with 31 years of service. He was a member of Barrington Ridge Baptist Church in Hobart. Jim was a U.S. history buff and loved baseball. He will be missed by those that knew him.

Jim is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Becky; son, Jason (Elizabeth Zombik) Woodard of Valparaiso; daughter, Tracie (Andrew Worden) Woodard of Hobart; mother, Katherine Woodard of Portage; brothers: Donald (Hazel) Woodard of Woodstock, GA and Howard Eugene (Donna) Woodard of Lake Station; aunts: Grace Garrett of TN and Pearl Aldridge of AL; several cousins and many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Howard J. Woodard.

A funeral service for Jim will be Friday, June 18, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, with Rev. Bill Gibbs officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. A visitation will be Thursday, June 17, 2010 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart, (219) 942-2109.
