Although all of us have an appointment with death, this news saddened me.  Jim and I knew each other as teenagers and I suspect that like all of us who’ve had the privilege to live a long life Jim matured and grew into a different person as he aged.  I lost contact with him after my family moved us out of the state following my sophomore year but my memories of Jim are vivid from days when we were friends and classmates together in the mid 1960’s.  It was a time of wonder with our whole lives ahead of us and we both looked eagerly forward to the future.  I remember him as a kind and quite soul, somewhat shy yet liked and regarded by so many of his classmates.  My deepest condolences go out to his family.
