OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, JULY 1, 2005:

Richard Louis (Berg) LaCroix, age 57, of Klamath Falls, OR, formerly of Hobart, passed away at Roseburg, VA Hospital in Roseburg, OR on June 21, 2005. Born on August 6, 1947, Richard was a graduate of Hobart High School, Class of 1965. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, U.S. Army. Richard served as a paratrooper in the 173rd Airborne Brigade.

He is survived by his mother, Eileen Helen Berg; two brothers: Robert (Susan) Berg and "Sig" Berg; one sister, Kathryn (Mark) Pope, all of Hobart; uncle, David (Marge) Smyth; six nieces; two nephews; two great-nieces and one great-nephew.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th Street, Hobart, IN, with Rev. Darrell Schultz, officiating. Cremation in Roseburg, OR will precede the memorial service. Contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Hobart, 654 E. 4th, Hobart, IN 46342.
