Myron J. Fessler, age 58 of Portage, IN passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at the University of Chicago. He was born May 23, 1947 in Indianapolis, IN, the son of Bruce Fessler and the late Donna Ray. He married Geraldine Massa on August 17, 1968 in Hobart, IN.

Myron is survived by his wife of 37 years, Gerry; daughters: Dina (Tony) Levenda of Toledo, Ohio, Debra (Peter) Oakes of Indianapolis, IN, Dawn Fessler of Chicago, IL; brothers: Bruce Fessler, Steve Fessler, Mike Fessler and Kim (Carol) Fessler, all of Florida; grandchildren: Griffin, Gabi, Matthew, Gavin and Katy; grandmother, Helen Ray of Vandalia, IL; mother-in-law, Mary Massa of Portage, IN; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Fessler was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church, League Director Portage Township Softball. He was also a former Football and Basketball coach, and an umpire and referee. He was an 8th grade teacher at Willowcreek Middle School in Portage.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 from 3:00pm-8:00pm at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at 10:00am at the Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church, 2949 Willowcreek Rd., Portage, IN with Fr. James Wozniak celebrating. Interment Calvary Cemetery Portage, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Assoc. Myron had a passion for life and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, teacher and friend. He touched the lives of many and will be missed by all.
