Ann Gleason Bly, age 73 passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021. She was a graduate of Hobart High School, Hobart, Indiana in 1965. On August 24, 1968, she married Robert M Bly. She graduated with a BS in Nursing from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana in 1970. She was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority.
Ann had a continually active professional career as a Registered Nurse. She was the medical/surgical nursing supervisor at Porter Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso, Indiana. After moving to Kokomo, Indiana she started Home Health Care of Howard County which was one of the first Home Care Agencies in the State of Indiana. She was the first President of the Home Health Care Administrators’ Association of Indiana.
In 1991, they relocated to Knoxville, TN where she worked in a variety of Health Care Organizations. She retired from nursing in 2009.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, George and Elaine Gleason, a sister, Victoria, and her beloved son, Thomas. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert, a practicing attorney in Knoxville, TN. She is also survived by a sister Gayle Brickley (Dennis) of Liberty Township, Ohio and three brothers; Timothy G. Gleason (Debbie) of Anthem, AZ, Robert T. Gleason of West Lafayette, Indiana, and Kevin A. Gleason (Michelle) of Port St. Lucie, FL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Click’s Farragut Chapel on June 10, 2021. Friends may call from 5 – 6:30 PM. The service will begin at 6:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in memory of Ann be made to the National Arthritis Foundation, or their local Humane Society.
Interrment will be at Washington Park North Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN at 4:00 PM, Friday June 18, 2021, followed by visitation of family and friends and a Celebration of Life at Flanner and Buchanan Mortuary which is located adjacent to the cemetery on Kessler Blvd in Indianapolis.
