Larry R. Cary, age 71, a life-long resident of Hobart, IN, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021.

Larry was born on February 27, 1950 in Logan, WV to the late Donald and Margaret Cary.  He was a proud Hobart High School graduate, Class of 1969 and was a star on the Brickies football team.  Larry worked as a Machinist at US Steel until his retirement.  He then studied Massage Therapy and treated clients out of his home. His passion and extensive knowledge of massage therapy made him a past- president of the Indiana Massage Therapist Association. 

Larry was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish, hunt, and camp. He also enjoyed watching outdoors survivalist shows.  Larry was a hobbiest and an expert in repair and restoration of antique clocks and guns.

Larry is survived by his children: Jodi Mitchell and Jeff (Danielle) Cary; grandchildren: Abigail, Carter, Ian, Jade, and Parker; brother; Don (Marian) Cary; sister: Sandra (late Jim) Johnson; sister-in-law: Nancy Cary; and many nieces and nephews.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents: Don and Margaret Cary; brother: Michael Cary; brother-in-law: Jim Johnson; and beloved dog: Harley.

Family and friends may gather at Rees Funeral Home (600 W. Old Ridge Rd, Hobart) on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.  A funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. with cremation to follow.
