OBITUARY FROM EVERLOVED.COM WEBSITE:
Michael Louis Kaczmarek, affectionately known as Mikeee, Mickey or Kaz, passed away of a heart attack on September 27, 2024 at 72 years old.
Born on Halloween, 1951 in Hobart, Indiana to (late) Louis and Anne Kaczmarek. Mike was a gentle giant whose kindness and helpful nature touched everyone he met. A devoted husband of 40 amazing years to Sally, loving father to Kallie, (Jared) and adoring Deda to granddaughter Juniper. While he is survived by his sister, Valerie and brother, Mark (and family), Michael always cherished his family above all else.
Mike’s athletic prowess was evident early in his life. His remarkable achievements on the football field in high school led to his induction into the Hobart Brickie Hall of Fame in 2023 and he earned a scholarship to Southern Illinois University where he graduated in 1973. He later played professionally for the Baltimore Colts in 1973 and played for the Florida Blazers in the World Football League in 1974.
Beyond his athletic accomplishments, Mike was a successful businessman, running his own sales company for several years. He was a gifted gourmet chef, a talented painter, a skilled carpenter, and the best kind of Jack of all trades.
Mike will be remembered for his sunny disposition, quiet sense of humor, and beautiful big smile with an unwavering willingness to lend a hand. All who knew him will deeply miss his spirit and generosity. In life and death, he committed his life to helping others any way he could. Upon his passing the organ donor service Gift of Hope was able to harvest his beautiful blue eyes, tissue, bone and skin for 8 recipients so they and their families can thrive anew.

I am so sorry to hear this. I have always held a special place in my heart for Mike. Tall, dark and handsome with those beautiful blue eyes. I remember one date where he took me out to "the mist" and scared the hell out of me by getting out of the car and disappearing for what seemed like a looong time! Then, of course, he tapped on my window and I may have wet my pants. A few dates and we went our separate ways.
My deepest condolences go to his wife and family. He was a special man. May your memories bring you comfort.
