Thomas (Tom) Routes - Class Of 1969

OBITUARY FROM BLOOMINGTON (IN) HERALD-TIMES WEBSITE:

Thomas A. Routes, 69, of Bloomington, passed away at I.U. Hospice House on November 13, 2020. Tom was born on August 15, 1951, to Dr. John S. Routes and Dorothy (Massa) Routes of Hobart, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Sam and Gladys Routes, and Frank and Esther Massa, and three brothers, Paul, James, and Terry. He is survived by his sister, Mary Ellen "Midge" (Marvin) Hutnick of Valparaiso, brothers Dr.Jack (Barbara) Routes of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, Mark Routes of Port Charlotte, Florida, and aunt Loretta (Roger) Redelman of Fairfax, Virginia, plus numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Tom was a graduate of Hobart High School and Indiana University. He loved all sports and was a particularly fervent fan of Indiana University basketball, the Chicago Bears, the White Sox, and the Cubs, and had an impressive collection of sports memorabilia. He was an employee of the United States Postal Service and initially worked in Bloomington and then for several years in Nashville, Indiana, where he made many friends. We will all miss his sense of humor, his kindness, and his love of family and friends. May you rest in peace, Tom.
