Tom Rushing - Class Of 1969

OBITUARY FROM THE POST-TRIBUNE, SEPTEMBER 17, 2011:

Rushing, Thomas Harold Age 61, a lifelong resident of Hobart, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2011. He was born on August 7, 1950 in Corinth, Mississippi, the son of Eugene and Helen Rushing. Tom was a 1969 graduate of Hobart High School. Tom was married to Rita Spain on May 13, 1972 in Hobart. Tom retired as a truck driver with over 30 years of service and had recently worked for Konrady Plastics. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited. He was an avid duck hunter and enjoyed bowling. He also attended the Hobart Church of Christ.

Tom is survived by his loving family; wife Rita Rushing, Hobart, daughter Tamara (Chris) Rassbach, Hobart, son Brian Rushing, Hobart, daughter Amanda Rushing, Hobart, grandchildren Jared, Sydney, Camryn, Makaylah, Ty, and Wyatt, sisters Charlotte (Darrell) Butler, Draper, Utah, Fonda (Daniel) Broadaway, Hobart, Barbara Perkins, Knox, and Michelle Rushing, Hendersonville, Tennessee, and other loving family and dear friends.

A visitation for Thomas Rushing will be held from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Rees Funeral Home Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 19, 2011 at Rees Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Cleek, officiating. Entombment will be at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso. Robert Swisher (1967)

Dear Charlotte and Fonda,

I am so sorry to hear about Tom!  I remember him as a teenager being a very funny guy and always with the jokes and pranks!  I am sure he continued to be a fun guy to be with.  I share in a small way your deep pain in his passing.  I pray for him and y'all.
