OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, AUGUST 7, 2013

James Allen Spencer "Jim", age 62, of New Braunfels, TX, formerly of Hobart, IN passed away at home on August 6, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Jim was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Jim is survived by son, Jim (Kim) Spencer; grandchildren: Austin Spencer, Shelby Spencer, and Ava Hilton; sisters: Linda (Rick) Snell, Connie Hollar; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents: Robert and Gladys Spencer; and daughter, Jayme Hilton. Jim was a US Army veteran, business owner, and avid scuba diver. He was very involved with the American Legion and VFW of Hobart. He will always be remembered for his 4th of July parade floats and his creative ability to fix or build anything he set his mind to. Jim will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
