OBITUARY FROM THE POST TRIBUNE (August 13, 1998)

Ronald Dean Gymrek, age 46, of Chesterton, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 1998 at home. He was a lifelong Hobart/Chesterton resident and a member of Wheeler United Methodist Church. Ron was a baseball coach for Libery Township Recreation Babe Ruth League. He loved baseball and was a boating enthusiast who enjoyed boating on Lake Michigan. Employed as a machinist in the electric shop at U.S.X. Corporation in Gary.

Survivors: wife, Charyn (nee Bertram) Gymrek; 2 sons, Michael and Matthew; 1 daughter, Casey Lynn, all at home; parents, Casey H. and Katherine (nee Pictor) Gymrek, of Hobart; brother, Kenneth (Dolly) Gymrek, of Hobart; mother-in-law, Carol Bertram, of Portage; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services Friday, August 14, 1998, 11 a.m. at Wheeler United Methodist Church, 307 North St., with Rev. Dr. Joseph Baunoch officiating. Burial Calvary Cemetery, Portage. In lieu of flowers contributions to be used for Michael, Matthey and Casey Lynn's educations would be appreciated. Friends may call on Thursday from 2-9 p.m. at the Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart.
