OBITUARY PUBLISHED IN VIDETTE MESSENGER, April 19, 2000

Randy D. Hayes, 48, of Hobart, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2000. He was a lifetime Hobart resident graduating from Hobart High School in 1970. Randy worked as a machinist for Aeromat Industries in Griffith. He was Commander of Sons Of The American Legion of American Legion Post #54.

He is survived by his wife, Eva Hayes, one son, Jeffrey Hayes, and one daughter, Carol (Brian Elkins) Hayes, all of Hobart, mother, Ida Myers of Hebron, step-father, Joseph Myers of New Chicago, two brothers, Robert (Sandra) Hayes and William (Michelle) Myers, and two sisters, Belinda (Mark) Kramer and Kellie Myers, all of Hobart; one granddaughter, Leia Elkins, father and mother-in-law, Francisco and Carmen Villarruel; four brothers-in-law, Adam (Donna), Francisco, Ernesto (Shellie) and Gilberto Villarruel, two sisters-in-law, Catalina (Nacho) Hurtado and Susanna Villarruel, 17 nieces and nephews, and many other friends and family.

Funeral services are Thursday, April 20, 2000, 11 a.m. at the Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN, with Rev. Duane Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, April 19th, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Rees Funeral Home, Hobart.
