Mike’s life is a Masterpiece. Mike was a gentle & healing spirit. He has always been known for his incredible sense of humor, creative Pun’s, and kind and peaceful soul. He was an incredible listener, understanding and all who knew Mike said “what a difference he made in their lives.” Mike would never hurt anyone, not even a “bug”. He was an insightful Minister with thoughtful sermons that connected to his listeners lives. Mike was a Methodist Minister for over 30 years & a Social Worker. Mike received his Bachelor’s of Political Science from Indiana University Northwest, his Masters of Divinity and Masters of Arts in Religious Education at the United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio, and his Masters in Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago where he met his wife Stephanie.

Mike and his friend Mike Stryker both started Royal Family Kid’s Camp in the Northern part of Indiana. It was a camp designed especially for children who had experienced abuse and neglect and who were in the foster care system. Mike worked for 17 years , devoting himself to the cause of saving children’s lives, making sure that those children knew that they were loved and could learn about God in a healthy and positive light. He was committed to see  that this camp became successful and self-sufficient with the help of his family and friends.

Mike was always very generous and giving to those in need. He was a member of the Hobart Ministerial Association. He was involved in the Paper Pantry at Trinity United Methodist Church and got his churches involved in ministries locally and around the world.

Mike “loved” to travel and traveled to many places where he would tell his friends and family about his many adventures. He loved World History, World Religions, British television, comedies, mysteries, and maps, for all of his future travels.

Mike was “one in a million”, “one of a kind” and the best Husband, Father, Son, Brother, and Friend that anyone could ever imagine having. I was blessed to have him as friend and husband.

He is loved by many and will be truly missed. Mike made the world a better place. He will always have a place in the hearts of those he touched.  We all love you so, so very much my best friend, and the “Love of My Life”, my Mike Cover!
