Pam Fleming (Manfred) - Class Of 1977

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, JANUARY 7, 2010:

Pamela L. Manfred, 50, of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at home following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born January 19, 1959 in Gary, the daughter of James and Olga (Hodko) Fleming. She graduated from Hobart High School in 1977 and received her diploma as a Dental Assistant fromIndiana University Northwest. She was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Valparaiso. Pam will be remembered by many as a receptionist at Vale Park Animal Hospital where she was able to extend her love and care for animals to others.

On August 4, 1978 she married John Manfred who survives along with their three children: Christina (Peter) Dolson of Fort Wayne, Andrea (Zach) Hook of Midway, OH, and Nicholas Manfred of Vandalia, OH; her mother, Olga Fleming of Hobart; two brothers: Mark (Nancy) Fleming of Hobart and Dave Fleming of Hobart; sister, Jennifer, (Dave) Goodman of Valparaiso; two grandchildren: Cole and Bailey Dolson; and her grandmother, Edith Bone of Portage. Pam was preceded in death by her father James Fleming.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 9 at 1:00 PM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 1511 LaPorte Ave., Valparaiso, Fr. Kevin McCarthy officiating with cremation to follow. Visitation Friday 4 - 8 PM at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society . MoellerFuneralHome.com
