Jeffery P. "Jeff" Tarry, age 68, of Portage, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, in Hobart, Indiana. He was born on December 1, 1957, in Gary, Indiana, to Millard and Jean (Gold) Tarry.

Jeff is survived by his children, Alisa (Greg) Compton and Aaron (Angela) Tarry; grand-daughter, Jordyn Jo Compton; brothers, John (Sharon) Tarry and Mark (Carol) Tarry; sisters, Paula (Keith) Myers and Jean (Stuart) Lynam and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Cathy Jo Tarry and niece, Joellen Myers.

Jeff was a proud United States Army Veteran.  He spent 44 years in the medical field as a Registered Nurse.  Jeff was always giving back his knowledge to the new generation of nurses and first responders.  As a nurse, he saved 100's of lives in his career.  He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed spending time on his boat but he especially loved spending time with his family.  He had a special love for his grand-daughter Jordyn, and was so proud of her.  Jeff was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.

Funeral Ceremony will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368, with Pastor Scott Jones officiating. Burial to take place at Calvary Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
