Carroll Eugene Hamilton Sr., 61, of Danville died at 4:15 p.m. Sunday (March 20, 2005) at Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System, Danville.

Mr. Hamilton was born March 20, 1944, in Gary, Ind., a son of Charles and Ruth Marie Rater Hamilton . He married Alla Lee Bowling on March 23, 1968, in Richmond, Ind. She survives.

Survivors also include a son, Carroll E. Hamilton Jr. of Westville; a daughter, Beverly Smith of Powder Springs, Ga.; a foster daughter, Janeta Quick of Danville; a brother, Charles Hamilton of Lake Village, Ind.; two sisters, Shirley Hamilton of Smyrna, Ga., and Beverly Caswell of Edina, Mo.; four grandchildren; and a foster grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Mr. Hamilton graduated from Hobert High School, Hobert, Ind., in 1962. He joined the Air Force in 1964, where he served as an airmen first class. After the service he worked as an electrician. He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church and enjoyed going to flea markets and rummage sales.
