Obituary for Terry Hansen

Terry Hansen, age 76, a long-time resident of Hobart, Indiana passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, at his home surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.

Terry was born February 25, 1949, in Gary, Indiana. He was raised in Hobart and graduated from Hobart High School with the class of 1967. Terry was a dedicated worker, even as a child he worked at local farms, a paper route, and other odd jobs. Following graduation, he accepted a position at Bethlehem Steel and though it changed names over the years, from Bethlehem, Mittal, and now Cleveland Cliffs, Terry continued to be a dedicated employee for 57 years! He was extremely talented with handiwork. He could fix anything and worked on heating and air conditioning units, was an extremely talented woodworker, and enjoyed restoring cars. He loved his cars, especially his ’68 Camero. Dedicated, talented, but most of all - a devoted father and grandfather. Terry especially loved his family; they had a lifetime of stories they wished they could share with everyone. He was a member of New Life Community Church where his visitation and funeral will take place.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents; Robert and Fern Hansen and brother; Robert Hansen II.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years; Fran Hansen, children; Eric Hansen and Christine Hansen, stepchildren; Stacey Little and Melissa Little, his many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters; Jenny Balutewicz, Lynn (Bill) Ball, Linda Oswald, Susan Daghy, Lisa (Terry) Neace, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services will take place at New Life Community Church 1 N Pennsylvania Street Hobart, Indiana 46342. Saturday, July 5, 2025, visitation from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM with the funeral service starting at 11:00 AM Rev. Jason Pena officiating. www.BurnsFuneral.com
