Paul A. “Butch” Palichuk, age 75, of Portage, formerly of Hobart, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025.

Paul was a graduate of Hobart High School Class of 1967 where he lettered in football and track. He attended Vincennes University and later joined the U.S. Navy Reserves. He was first employed as a milkman for Dixie Dairy in Gary, Indiana. He was a beer truck driver for Brumm Distributing for 10 years. Paul was a member of Union Local No. 142. He spent the remainder of his career (30 years) working as a sales representative for Mike’s Sporting Goods in Glen Park and Merrillville. He loved dogs, playing fantasy football with his boys, playing poker with his buddies, bowling and recently golf. His greatest love was spending time with his wife and family.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents; Paul & Betty Palichuk and daughter; Rachael Palichuk. He is survived by his wife of 55 years; Cathy (nee Noll) Palichuk, sons; Paul (Shannon) Palichuk Jr., Casey Palichuk, grandchildren; Madeline (Kenny) Guernsey, Jackson Palichuk, several nieces and nephews, special thank you to Dan (Jessica) Bonta who he considered a third son, his 4 legged child; Lily Rose, as well as many other countless friends and relatives.

Services will take place at Burns Funeral Home & Crematory 701 East 7th Street Hobart, Indiana 46342. Visitation Thursday, May 8, 2025, 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM with the funeral service at 6:00 PM.
