OBITUARY FROM BURNS FUNERAL HOME WEBSITE:
Patrick Henry Seitz, age 76, formerly of Hobart, Indiana, passed away on March 30, 2026. Born in New Albany, Indiana, Pat lived a life centered around friends, community, and countless evenings spent on the softball fields. For many years, he coached softball, dedicating his time and energy to the game he loved. By his side was Floy, faithfully keeping the scorebook, while his daughter proudly played on the team. Those seasons on the field were some of the moments he cherished most, filled with teamwork, laughter, friends and family.
A proud graduate of Hobart High School, Class of 1967, Pat carried his Brickie spirit with him throughout his life. Shortly after graduation, he honorably served his country in the United States Navy.
Above all else, Pat’s life revolved around his grandsons. He was their number one fan in every sense of the word. Whether it was attending countless soccer games, cheering from the sidelines in all kinds of weather, or proudly wearing their team colors, he showed up every single time. His support went far beyond the stands. Pat chose his car in their high school colors, displayed license plates representing their colleges, and even had specialty plates honoring Indiana University Northwest along with their college soccer numbers, #10 and #30. These everyday reminders reflected the immense pride he had for Tre and Tye and the joy he found in watching them grow and succeed.
Pat was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Seitz, and his father, Henry Seitz. He is survived by Floy Seitz; his daughter, Melissa, and her husband, Dozzle Adams Jr; and his two beloved grandsons, Tre and Tye Adams.
Patrick will be cremated, and there will be no formal services. A celebration of life will be announced once the weather cooperates.
He’ll be remembered in a more everyday kind of way — you could always catch him at a soccer game, he was the one you called when you needed a tool, teaching how to change the brakes, or when it was time to learn how to mow the lawn the “right way.” That’s how his family will remember him most: present and always showing up. His legacy lives on through his family and friends.
