OBITUARY: WILLIAM L. "BILL" SPURR II

William L. "Bill" Spurr II 52, of Winslow passed away on Thursday August 19, 2010 at Black Beauty Coal Mine where he was currently employed. Bill was born on November 19, 1957 in Clinton, IN to Jack & Marie (Byerley) Spurr. He graduated from Hobart High School. He lived in Clinton and in Montgomery before moving to Winslow in 2000. He attended the Southwest Indiana Walk to Emmaus.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jack Spurr in 2003. Bill is survived by his wife, Bernice Spurr of Winslow; mother, Marie Spurr of Clinton, IN; 2 children, Monica (Travis) Wagler of Montgomery and Buddy Spurr of Oakland City; 5 stepchildren, Matt Troesch of Ferdinand, IN, Theresa Wilson of Tell City, IN, Jenny Unser of St. Croix, IN, Mark Esarey and Tim Esarey of Bristow, IN; 2 grandchildren, Caleb and Emily Wagler of Montgomery; 2 step grandchildren, Tara Wilson and Owen Esarey; brother, Steve Spurr of Clinton; and sister, Debbie Lindsey of Universal, IN.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM (CDT) on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, officiated by Pastor Pat McCandless. Burial will be at the
Williams Cemetery in Pike County. Visitation will be from 3 until 8 PM
(CDT) on Monday at the funeral home.
