Norma peacefully passed away @Little Hospice in Edina, MN on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021 at the age of 88 years of age of Alzheimers disease. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents Evert and Maude Bledsoe, and her sister Susan (and Paul) Knies.
Norma and Bob celebrated 63 1/2 years of marriage before his passing in 2014. They raised a family of five children and will be greatly missed by Dean, Dione, Doug, Don, and Devawn, daughters-in-law Patti and Diane, granddaughters Sara and Olivia, brother-in-law Kendrick Palmer of Chesterton, IN and great-grandsons Hendrix and Herschel, as well as loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Arizona and Indiana.
Norma Ruth was born in 1933 to Evert and Maude Bledsoe on a farm near Hillham in southern Indiana. She graduated valedictorian of her senior class from Hobart High School (Indiana) and was married to Robert C. Palmer in 1950. She was devoted to her family.
Norma and Bob shared many traveling adventures in the US as well as abroad. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed beautifully playing any song on the piano by ear. The family moved from Tracy, MN to Scottsdale, AZ in 1970. Norma worked for many years in accounts receivable at Smittys store in Scottsdale. Playing golf was a favorite activity and she was an avid reader her entire life. She lived in Scottsdale 44 years.
Normas joy of life, her kind and loving ways, and wonderful sense of humor endeared her to all those who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, we would greatly appreciate donations made in her name to Little Hospice, (7019 LynMar Lane, Edina, MN 55435 or littlehospice.org) who graciously and tenderly cared for Norma during her final days.
