Carole Ann Lewis (Berndt), of Hobart, Indiana, passed away on August 23, 2026. She was born in Gary, Indiana, on July 27, 1945, to Lorraine (Watters) and Norman Berndt, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte Berndt. 

Carole was a graduate of Hobart High School and worked as a beautician. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hobart, where she sang in the church choir for several years. Carole was an avid Elvis Presley fan and had a special love for horses, dogs, and Ford Mustangs. 

She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Lewis, and her nieces, Amanda (Tyler) Vargas and Stephanie Berndt. 

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, Indiana 46307. 

A funeral service will be held at Burns Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, with Rev. Nathan Kramer officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery 1505 Morthland Drive Valparaiso, Indiana 46383.
